Vicky Pryce CB

Ms Pryce has played a key role across Whitehall, first as Deputy Head and for the last three years as joint Head of the Government Economic Service.

Cabinet Secretary, Sir Gus O’Donnell said:

“Vicky has made an enormous contribution across the whole of Government through her role as joint head of the Government Economic Service and as a member of the officials group of the National Economic Council. This is, of course, in addition to her contribution to BIS and its predecessor departments. She will be greatly missed as an effective and highly professional colleague.”

Department for Business Permanent Secretary, Simon Fraser said:

“Vicky has been a passionate advocate of evidence-based policy making and has embedded the role of the analyst as an integral part of policy development throughout the department. She has made an immense contribution in her time in DTI, BERR and BIS, as chief economist and member of the Management Board. I wish her all the best for her return to the private sector”.

Ms Pryce has agreed to stay until the summer to help in the period immediately following the General Election. A successor will be appointed in due course.
